Old Down Manor Wedding Photography - Jake + Rachael

We first met Jake and Rachael at the end of 2019 just before the dread C word struck the country. Fast forward to 2022 and we got the wedding done!

The couple first met at The Horseshoe Pub and “talked/laughed until the early hours of the morning and never stopped since”.  They bought their first house where Jake proposed by getting together some photos bringing back loads of memories and concealed the ring and ring box with the photos; a clever idea!

The wedding was planned for Old Down Manor and after the date changed, it was fixed for March 2022. They chose the venue for the beautiful grounds and the Manor House, as well as the lovely views of Wales (Rachael is Welsh) so it felt like a joining of England and Wales, two special places for her.

During the build up to the wedding day, Rachael was most looking forward to seeing Jake in his suit, hearing his vows and to finally let go and enjoy the day spent with loved ones and friends, plus a good dance in the evening (there certainly was!).

For Jake, he was looking forward to seeing Rachael walking down the aisle and the desert after the wedding breakfast (a man after my own heart!). He was also looking forward to the ceremony and spending time with us for the photos.

After the wedding, the couple have a few tips for future couples; “Take time for yourselves, write title notes to each other beforehand and write personal vows to make the day more magical and personal”. We couldn’t agree more with the personal vows!
