Laura & Ash's Sunny Summer Wedding at Cadbury House, Somerset

Some weddings just have everything going for them, and Laura and Ash's was one of those days. In August 2026 the sun shone from start to finish over Cadbury House in Somerset. The day was full of laughter and happy tears, and it ended with one of the best sunsets we've photographed all year.

From matching flat caps and check suits to a pearl veil that caught the light in every frame, this was a wedding with real personality. Here are some of our favourite moments from the day.

Bucks Fizz on the terrace

The morning started on the stone terrace at Cadbury House. The bridesmaids wore champagne satin and the groomsmen wore beige suits, and there was plenty of Bucks Fizz and plenty of laughter. Ash and Laura's dad shared a quiet pint before things got serious, both looking sharp in their matching flat caps.

One of our favourite moments came before the ceremony. Laura's dad saw her in her dress and veil for the first time, and the hug and the smile on his face say it all. Laura then had a few quiet minutes with her mum and dad before heading inside.

A ceremony in the Drawing Room

The ceremony took place in the Drawing Room at Cadbury House, a light, airy space dressed in white drapes, candles and bright roses. As Laura walked down the aisle with her dad, Ash was overcome. He tried hard to hold it together and didn't quite manage, which set off half the room too.

The vows were full of smiles, and the pair were grinning from ear to ear as they signed the register. They walked back up the aisle as husband and wife to a room on its feet and applauding.

Confetti, sunshine and the lake

Outside, guests lined the path under the palm trees for a proper confetti send-off, with petals everywhere and Ash laughing his head off. Laura then popped on a pair of heart-shaped sunglasses, which summed up the fun of the day perfectly.

We took Laura down to the lake and fountain in the grounds of Cadbury House for her bridal portraits. The warm August light and the long grasses were perfect for her off-the-shoulder dress and pearl veil. We also grabbed a few details: the rings, and Ash's twine-wrapped rose buttonhole.

Singing Waiters and speeches

The wedding breakfast was full of surprises. The Singing Waiters were mixed in with the staff, and nobody suspected a thing until they burst into song mid-service. Within minutes the top table was waving napkins and a groomsman was dancing between the tables.

Then came the speeches, and the tissues. Ash's speech had the whole room laughing, while the bridesmaid's heartfelt words had Laura in tears one minute and in fits of giggles the next. Speeches like these are a big part of why we love what we do.

A golden sunset at Cadbury House

As the evening drew in, the sky put on a show. We slipped away with Laura and Ash for twenty minutes of golden-hour portraits around the grounds. There was a kiss under a paper parasol, a stroll across the lawn with the hotel glowing behind them, and a quiet moment at a field gate as the sun went down.

The woodland paths at Cadbury House are one of our favourite spots for sunset portraits, and this evening showed why. With the sun bursting through the trees and Ash gallantly carrying Laura's train, these are some of our favourite images of the year. We finished at the Shepherd's Rest hut, a quirky little corner of the grounds that suited these two perfectly.

Sparklers and a starlit dancefloor

Back inside, DJ company Cadence had transformed the room with a starlit dancefloor. For the first dance they set off indoor cold sparklers on either side of the couple, which made for a real showstopper moment.

After that, Cadence kept the dancefloor packed all night. A live saxophonist joined in, the light-up foam sticks came out, and Ash proved he has some serious moves.

Laura and Ash, thank you so much for having us. Your day was full of fun, emotion and sunshine, and we loved every minute of it. We wish you every happiness!
